The Sound Room has been located in Vancouver's Kitsilano neighborhood for over 35 years.
It was founded in 1974 by a small group of audiophiles and began at 2803 West Broadway.
In 1994 the store moved a few blocks away to 2205 West 4th Avenue and finally it moved back to Broadway in 2004 to its present location at 2025 West Broadway.

The Sound Room has always been a fully independent Canadian owned business and it's still owned and operated by the original founder.
